Obtaining products

The AEShareNet site's main function is the licensing of training material. For purchasing of the product the site does however hyperlink you to the product owner's shopfront or web page. By clicking on the link below (View Example of a Material Pointer) you can see a screen capture of the full licence conditions of a product. The material pointer field contains the URL that links you to an online catalogue where you can purchase the physical copies of the product.

Provision of a Material Pointer field is at the licensor’s discretion. When attempting to access a product where a Material Pointer has not been provided you can still contact the licensor to arrange purchase via the “Budget Centre Contact Details” screen.

There is an important distinction between ownership of a physical copy of training material and ownership of copyright in the material. Put differently: there is a distinction between physical property and intellectual property. Copyright is the exclusive right to control certain acts or uses in relation to particular subject matter - notably the right to copy the material. Obtaining a physical copy of material does not grant a party a right to perform copyright acts in respect of that material - see Outline of Copyright Law.
If not expressly granted at the time of obtaining a physical copy of the material, a copyright licence must be obtained to allow the desired copyright.
