Copyright Kitchen

The Copyright Kitchen is an exciting new on-line copyright resource for people in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector. In today's world, issues about copyright and ownership can be quite confusing. Though teachers and trainers have more access to information, it is protected by copyright and the rules and issues surrounding asking for permission to use the copyright materials can be daunting.

Released by the 2005 Australian Flexible Learning Framework, the Copyright Kitchen is a user-friendly guide to assist with common, everyday copyright dilemmas in a novel recipe format. Copyright issues or "recipes" are divided into categories of who the person is (full-time/casual teacher, copyright material creator, manager), who they work for (private or public training provider) and what the copyright issue might be. The copyright recipes can be put together to create a personalised Cookbook that can be downloaded to have on hand for easy reference.

AEShareNet is delighted to endorse this innovative and useful copyright tool. AEShareNet is running explanatory workshops on licensing and the Copyright Kitchen. Currently there are events planned for Perth on 2 September, Sydney on 13 September and Newcastle on 21 October. For Perth contact Emma Reksmiss on 08 9229 5383. For NSW contact Jeff Saul on 02 9448 2316. The Copyright Kitchen can be accessed at:
