AEShareNet announces the release of our new website, and a new licence protocol

Regular users of the AEShareNet web service will notice a dramatic change to the website. As a result of comments noted during our recent Web Surveys and other feedback received throughout our first year of full operations – we have undertaken a re-design of our website in an effort to improve general usability. We hope that the new website will prove to be more intuitive and we welcome any feedback you may have on our new design – just click on the feedback link in the header.

Timed to coincide with the release of our new website, we are excited to announce the availability of a new licence protocol from AEShareNet called Free for Education (FfE).

Free for Education Logo TM

The Free for Education (FfE) protocol is a significant departure from our normal ‘trading and sharing’ model of licensing. FfE has been born out of an identified need in the sector to appropriately mark those materials that were meant to be made freely available to educators and students. With FfE there is no need to register the item on the AEShareNet catalogue, no transactions occur, there is no work involved except to affix the Mark to the document or webpage. The FfE mark will signify to everyone that this resource is available for educational purposes and at no cost.

There are substantial benefits for users and owners of materials.

Users:

Owners:

Owners of materials may be Commercial, Educational or Government bodies that have useful material available but do not intend to derive any commercial return for the resource that is part of the organisation’s normal business. For more information on the FfE protocol visit our information page [http://www.aesharenet.com.au/FfE/]
