Search Material Registrations
This the basic search page of the AEShareNet website. It allows you to Search for learning materials within the database that are described by Material Registrations. Search functions may be accessed from the AEShareNet website homepage or from the Members Area.
The basic search takes a string of words and searches for those words across the descriptive fields of Material Registrations.
These fields are: Title, Description, Subject descriptions, NTIS descriptions, and MRN.
The basic search only searches for Material Registrations that have the status Active or Under Development. This criteria may be widened by using the Advanced Search.
Search Material Registrations

Enter the terms to search for in the Material Registrations database.
You can use the following operators to further refine your search:
- AND
- AND NOT
- OR
- * - Wildcard operator may be used at end of a search word eg. Universit* for University and Universities.
- " " Quotes for an exact phrase match eg. "Marine Mammals".
- ( ) Parentheses eg. (Wildlife AND Video) AND NOT (KANGAROO).
- Any other punctuation is ignored, as are common words such as "in" or "the".
- The the search is case insensitive.
The text search allows for structured searching by providing support for Boolean keywords and bracketing. When a search is performed the search text is first parsed in order to ensure that it is syntactically correct. The parser recognizes the Boolean keywords AND, AND NOT, and OR. The parser also supports the use of brackets to group keywords logically and allow complicated queries such as (property and not law) or (soil and science) to be used.
Enclosing a phrase in quotation marks will search for that exact phrase so "soil science" will only match pieces of text where those two words are together in a phrase. Entering search terms without any boolean operator separating them will cause the terms to be joined by an AND operator so soil science becomes soil AND science.
Search
Clicking the Search Button starts searching, when the search is finished a list of matching results is returned.
Search results are displayed with a summary of the matching Material Registration and a link to a page displaying the full text of the Material Registration. A link at the bottom of the page provides access to the next page of results.
Advanced Search
The link to Advanced Search navigates to a page which provides more complex searching options across most of the fields of a Material Registration.
