The Advanced Search page allows for a powerful search against almost every field of a Material Registration.
Search Material Registrations
Search for word(s)
Enter the terms to search for in the Material Registrations database.
You can use the following operators to further refine your search:
- AND
- AND NOT
- OR
- * - Wildcard operator may be used at end of a search word eg. Universit* for University and Universities.
- " " Quotes for an exact phrase match eg. "Marine Mammals".
- ( ) Parentheses eg. (Wildlife AND Video) AND NOT (KANGAROO).
- Any other punctuation is ignored, as are common words such as "in" or "the".
- The the search is case insensitive.
The text search allows for structured searching by providing support for Boolean keywords and bracketing. When a search is performed the search text is first parsed in order to ensure that it is syntactically correct. The parser recognizes the Boolean keywords AND, AND NOT, and OR. The parser also supports the use of brackets to group keywords logically and allow complicated queries such as (property and not law) or (soil and science) to be used.
Enclosing a phrase in quotation marks will search for that exact phrase so "soil science" will only match pieces of text where those two words are together in a phrase. Entering search terms without any boolean operator separating them will cause the terms to be joined by an AND operator so soil science becomes soil AND science.
Title, Description & NTIS Codes & Subjects:
These checkboxes determine over which fields the text search will query. At least one box must be checked for the text search to be performed.
Material Type:
Select to search for only Material Registrations of the Material Type you select in the drop down box.
Format Type:
Select to search for only Material Registrations of the Format Type you select in the drop down box.
Qualification Level:
Select to search only Material Registrations with the Qualification Level you select in the drop down box.
Search
Clicking the Search Button starts searching, when the search is finished a list of matching results is returned.
Search results are displayed with a summary of the matching Material Registration and a link to a page displaying the full text of the Material Registration. A link at the bottom of the page provides access to the next page of results.
Additional Options
Material Scope:
Select to search for only Material Registrations with the Material Scope selected from the drop down box, which may be one of: Course Curriculum , Module , Learning Outcome , Training Package , Sector , Qualification , Unit of Competency , Element of Competency.
Only include materials with Material Pointers
Click the checkbox to only include in your search Material Registrations with a URL link to further information.
Select the Status of the Material Registrations you are seeking:
Check the statuses that should be included in the search.
Valid options include Available, Under Development and Other. Materials that are Available may be licenced if you are logged in as an AEShareNet user. Materials that are Under Development may become available in the future. Materials with the status Other are not available for licensing.
Select Licence Marks of interest:
Clicking on the radio buttons will limit the search to Material Registrations with the selected Licence Mark.
Valid options are: Any Licence Mark (or none) , AEShareNet - C , AEShareNet - P, AEShareNet - S, and AEShareNet - U.
Codes and Keywords:
NTIS Codes
Limits your search result set to only Material Registrations with the specified NTIS Codes.
Subject Codes
Limits your search result set to only Material Registrations with the specified Subject Codes.
Material Registration Number
Search for the specified Material Registration Number.
Ownership:
Member
Limit your search to only Material Registrations registsered by the specified Member of AEShareNet. The Member may be specified by name or Member ID.
Search Options:
Results per page
Your Search will return up to the specified number of results per page. Further results will be availble on subsequent pages.
Search for (All/Any) of the above criteria
Your search will return, depending on your specification, results which either satisfy all or any of the criteria selected on the Advanced Search Page. Selecting all criteria has the effect of performing an exclusive search - only Material Registrations that match all selected options will be returned. Selecting any criteria has the effect of performing an inclusive search - any Material Registration that matches any one of the selected options will be returned in the search results. In this case the Material Registrations that match the most search criteria will be ranked highest in the search results.
