What we do
The AEShareNet licensing system connects people who are looking for learning materials with those who own them.
There are two ways to connect people: firstly, using Instant Licences, which are freely available, when you attach a relevant Mark; or alternatively, through Mediated licences, which are transacted online through the AEShareNet website.
Instant Licences arise automatically when the licensee legitimately acquires or accesses a copy of a material which legitimately retains the AEShareNet Licence Mark (click here for more information on Instant Licences).
The AEShareNet website facilitates the trading of Mediated Licences for learning materials (click here for more information on Mediated Licences).
Traditionally, the discovery, licensing and purchase of learning materials has been an arduous and multi-skilled process. The AEShareNet licensing system solves this problem by automating most of the process, leaving you to spend your time doing what you do best: working on training.
- Search for the materials. The AEShareNet web site has Australia's largest catalogue of learning materials, and provides extensive search facilities, helping to find what you want as quickly as possible.
- If the search result displays the product as an Instant Licence (FfE, U, S and P licences): you have an automatic licence and there is no transaction required through the system.
- If the search result displays the product as a C or E licence: this must be mediated through the system.
- Negotiate with the licence owner. The AEShareNet licensing system facilitates and manages the trade. In most cases, our fixed licence terms will complete the trade almost immediately.
- Payment. We manage the collection of payments for the licence owner. If you're purchasing a mediated licence, your membership of AEShareNet makes this an almost invisible process, as we will simply bill your account.
- Selling your licensed materials. We provide licence upload and management facilities, so even if you are selling materials, the process is simple.
