This new CD ROM is a numeracy Certificate of General Education for Adults resource. It would be appropriate for learners at Certificate I (Introductory) and Certificate I levels. It contains facts and figures about personal water use, language activities arising from a written passage about water use in George and Mary's home, understanding your water bill including the graph of water use, facts and figures about water use in an average home including percentage calculations, water saving ideas (from the internet), Melbourne's water storages and water use in other countries. Learner will identify and judge the size of metric measurements used in everyday situations, respond to the meaning of words and idioms in a passage of writing, read and identify the parts of a water bill, interpret the meaning of a bar graphs from a bill, read information from a pie graph, use 10% to calculate other percentages, find information about water saving from internet addresses, calculate percentage of the total using a calculator and compare figures with other countries. This resource is available on a CD ROM.
