AEShareNet connects people who are looking for learning materials with those who own them. There are now two options available: Instant Licences, which are freely available, when you attach a relevant Mark; and Mediated licences, which are transacted online through the AEShareNet Service. We also provide detailed general information on copyright and licensing.

Traditionally, the discovery, licensing and purchase of learning materials has been an arduous and multi-skilled process. AEShareNet solves this problem by automating most of the process, leaving you to spend your time doing what you do best: working on training.

1 Search for the materials. The AEShareNet web site has Australia's largest catalogue of learning materials, and provides extensive search facilities, helping to find what you want as quickly as possible.

2 If the search result displays the product as an Instant Licence (FfE, U, S and P licences): you have an automatic licence and there is no transaction required through the system.

3 If the search result displays the product as a C or E licence: this must be mediated through the system.

4 Negotiate with the licence owner. AEShareNet facilitates and manages the trade. In most cases, our fixed licence terms will complete the trade almost immediately.

5 Payment. AEShareNet manages the collection of payments for the licence owner. If you're purchasing a mediated licence, your membership of AEShareNet makes this an almost invisible process, as we will simply bill your account.

6 Selling your licensed materials. AEShareNet provides licence upload and management facilities, so even if you are selling materials, the process is simple.

Copyright Agency Limited (CAL) is an Australian copyright management company whose role is to provide a bridge between creators and users of copyright material. CAL represents authors, journalists, visual artists, photographers and newspaper, magazine and book publishers as their non-exclusive agent to license the copying of their works to the general community.

CAL's mission is to secure fair payment for copyright owners for the copying of their works, while providing users with a legal means of copying and communicating works. By ensuring fair payment to the copyright owners, creativity and
investment in the further development of works is encouraged.

The ARC Centre of Excellence for Creative Industries and Innovation (CCI) was established in July 2005 and is the first Centre of Excellence funded outside of the science, engineering and technology sectors. The Centre has an ambitious research agenda organised around three themes:

· Creative Innovation

· Innovation Policy

· Creative Human Capital

Areas of research interest for the Centre include clearing impediments in regulation pertaining to intellectual property, open content licensing, and creative commons; developing new education and training products to meet the workforce requirements of the 21st Century; broadening the national innovation system to the creative, human and social sciences; and investigating the pro-am movement in digital content creation.

The Centre is based at the Queensland University of Technology and has research partners in six states and territories, including the Australasian CRC for Interaction Design, the Australian Film Television and Radio School, Swinburne University of Technology, Australian National University, Charles Darwin University, University of Wollongong, and Edith Cowan University.

The Centre for Learning Innovation (CLI) was established in 2004 and is part of the NSW Department of Education and Training. Its role is to provide excellence in learning resource production, and leadership in the strategic use of technology in education and training.

CLI fosters a culture of innovation in teaching and learning throughout schools and TAFE through the use of 'connected learning'. This encompasses e-learning, blended learning and online collaboration.

CLI develops learning resources across all contemporary media - including web, DVD, video, television and print. Learning design teams are complemented and supported by in-house media production and information and communication technology (ICT) experts, and broadcast quality production facilities

The Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce - commonly known as the RSA, was founded in 1754 by William Shipley, a painter and social activist. Today the RSA is an independent, non-aligned, multi-disciplinary registered charity with over 22,000 Fellows worldwide. We encourage sustainable economic development and the release of human potential through a program of projects and an international lecture program.

RSA in Australia and New Zealand is a newly incorporated company formed by the amalgamation of chapters in New Zealand, Victoria and New South Wales. Our aim is to expand the Fellowship through involvement in projects such as the Adelphi Charter in local settings.
